BMI Calculator
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a quick screen for whether your weight is in a healthy range for your height. Our free calculator works in metric or imperial units, runs entirely in your browser, and saves nothing.
Open the BMI CalculatorHow to use the BMI Calculator
- 1Choose metric (kg / cm) or imperial (lb / in) units.
- 2Enter your current weight.
- 3Enter your height.
- 4Read your BMI value and the category it falls into.
How it is calculated
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². Imperial inputs are converted to metric before the same formula is applied. BMI is a screening tool, not a diagnosis — it does not distinguish muscle from fat.
